During their graduate program, school counselors are often taught about self-care as a counselor and the prevention of burnout. When working with students, these same concepts can be applied to teachers. One of the roles that school counselors play in education is that of collaborator. Without teamwork within the school, students may not receive the resources that they need to succeed. Naturally, school counselors can help teachers address their burnout and assist in ways such as reducing teacher-student relationship stress, improving communication with families, and help students in conflict when it's affecting their classroom learning.
